hokeknowingnealwAs I spend a somewhat soggy morning in South Florida on my covered patio,, sad that I had to cancel one of my first EcoARTventures, I still feel gratitudeI have immense gratitude for our oceans, which helped provide this rain today.  Only because of our oceans, is this rain here today watering my thristy plants, and quenching my natural thirst that keeps me alive.  I felt this overwhelming urge to feel the sprinkles over my face, (ever feel that and then resisted it?) ...it was like an invitation from the sky itself.  I followed my natural sense to indulge, and stood out in the back yard, motionless and quiet, for quite some time.  I proceeded to absorb this inspirational and relaxing outdoor shower!  I felt peace and some wisdom arrive in this relaxing wet state.  I stopped feeling sad,  as the sun arrived (and I'm not out "EcoARTventureing" at St. Lucie Inlet Park with Coastal Paddleboarding this morning), and began to feel inspired and grateful for the oceans providing me with this wonderful peace.  I guess nature intended for me to be home and post this blog today!

So, naturally, just as many experience that "shower phenomenon," where ideas emerge under the spell of the very water that over 60% of our bodies are made up of, I celebrated the many inspirations this rain gave me this morning.  (More on all those juicy ideas later)...yet, just for today, I at least felt compelled to share my Sea Turtle portraits and stories, as I will always consider them our Oceans' Ambassadors.  They deserve to be acknowledged and "heard," as they have been on this earth much longer than we have.  My stories about them explain why I feel this way, and why I paint them larger than life.  So, in celebration of World Oceans Day, and in my continued plight to inspire us all to begin the journey of us humans discovering a more balanced relationship with the earth, here is a 10% off code in the hopes you will take one of my sea turtle buddies home with you to remind you that our oceans love you:)  I share with organizations that work hard to raise our awareness and care for our oceans, as you will discover upon a leisurely browse through this website and learn more about me.)

I have created a deeply, emotionally connected collection of the sea turtle portraits - as I had the privilege of experiencing them all in person. Each portrait is of a rescued sea turtle, and I  am so grateful for the organizations who work so hard to help these awesome souls from our oceans!  It is my World Ocean's Day wish that we as humans really begin to feel our deep connection to our oceans and their residents - perhaps then, we will finally be inspired to balance and respect the oceans.  Our oceans love us and provide for us UNCONDITIONALLY, it is my hope humans will begin to reciprocate.
